Bagpipe Lessons for beginners 2020
Helsinki
Our bagpipe lessons for beginners cover a universal approach to the world of bagpipes.
Because some of the bagpipe types are extremely challenging technically and maybe physically straining on the student, only the intermediate and advanced students are tutored on specific pipes and traditions. The beginner student learns all the foundation principles of the world of bagpipes and playing technique on a beginner’s instrument. This provides a most easier development later on, on any kind of bagpipe.
The student does not need to have his own instrument. A suitable instrument is provided by the teacher for each lesson.
After a couple of months, the student may choose to buy an instrument to more comfortably practice at home, in between classes.
Some of the subjects covered are:
- How to hold, tune and maintain a bagpipe
- How to breath
- How to play and use the bag
- How to finger the instrument
- How to separate notes on bagpipes
- How to play along with dance-tunes
- etc
