It was an incredible experience to share my research at the Conference: “Artistic research: various fields, approaches, experiences”
It was organised by the Latvian Academy of Music, in the beautiful city of Riga.
The conference had a myriad of subject themes, hosting researchers that ranged from music composers to designers, performers, and historians, in all fields of art.
It was refreshing to have such a heterogeneous group of people in open discussion.
In my case, I was representing the Sibelius Academy – Mutri – Folk Music Department, abroad. But I was not alone – I was very proud of the incredible demonstration of knowledge and professionalism of our colleagues and professors at this event.
My deep thanks for the Sibelius Academy’s support of my research, and a special word for my travelling partners and research assistants/colleagues:
> Zexuan Qiao (Queen’s University of Belfast)
> Krishna Nagaraja (Sibelius Academy)
Also a word of recognition and encouragement to all the professors and staff of the Latvian Academy of Music, in the person of Prof. Diāna Zandberga, (PhD), for such a beautiful and successful event.
