We are 3D Printing our way to success. We are moving!
The PRUSA equipment is a breeze to work with. Such seamless operation, interface, and software made it possible for us to print our first Flute Prototypes in record time. However, this came only after many weeks of measuring the Sibelius Academy old folk flutes collection, and precise computer 3D modelling of very complex geometry!
Having a way to test working/sounding prototypes, paves the way to the acquisition of further tools and machines to produce the finalized musical.
This is just the beginning.
We are now seeking the support/sponsorship of tool and machine companies (such as PRUSA) to help us reach our final objective – the production of affordable high-quality instruments for beginner students in Finland.
Are any Finnish companies out there available to collaborate in the reborn of the Finnish flutes and Bagpipes?

Gonçalo Cruz
is a Researcher, Musician, Educator & Maker of Bagpipes & Woodwinds.
He holds a Masters in Architecture, and is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Sibelius Academy - “Forgotten Bagpipes - The redesign of the Säkkipilli in Finland”. His research interests are in the disciplines of Music, Ethnomusicology, Organology, as well as Art & Design, History & Archeology, with a special interest in the subjects of Instrument building, Tuning and Temperament.
As an artist, Gonçalo has been working as a music composer and guest musician on live and recorded performances, and is keen in developing the concept of “Music as Design”
